GET INVOLVED
HU1 Radio started broadcasting live in January 2020 we provide people with a chance to get their voices heard. It reaches a worldwide audience online and via the app.
We broadcast 24 hours a day based in Hull. Internet Radio is a great way for people to learn new skills and develop confidence, and by thinking about volunteering, you've taken the first steps towards this. We have a range of opportunities which includes
Production Roles
Broadcast Assistant - This role is to support the on-air team including answering phone calls, welcoming guests and visitors updating the news, researching content and updating the 'what's on' events as well as dealing with emails and writing stuff for Twitter and Facebook as it comes.
Producer - To create quality shows we need people to help produce shows. This role will include putting together information and providing direction to presenters, Broadcast Assistants and anyone else involved in the show.
Presenter - Being a presenter is more than talking and playing music and we are always on the lookout for presenters experienced or not we will train you up.
Contributor - An opportunity for you to offer your views and comments with others which will be recorded for broadcast.
Reporter - To meet with local people and record interviews with them.
Support Roles
Fundraising Support - This role will involve supporting the station's fundraising team who will be planning loads of events throughout the year.
Street Team Support - This role involves supporting our station's team with outside broadcasts, on-air support to presenters and other jobs to behind the scenes.
So whether you can volunteer on a daily, weekly, monthly, or every so often. Your time will make a difference. We know our volunteers have time commitments and we are dedicated to working flexibly with you to enable you to volunteer with us.
